The coho fishing off Nanaimo has remained excellent well into September. We are still seeing some larger local chinook moving through the area on their way to the rivers. The coho are continuing to grow bigger by the week, with some now getting close to 10 pounds! Sometimes these coho are being mistaken for larger chinook salmon when they hit your lure as the hits are hard and the fight is on right away with some even going on runs like bigger chinook salmon do. Speaking of larger chinook, we are still seeing some very nice fish up to 20 pounds plus on some Nanaimo fishing charters trips. Usually in shallow waters this time of year and the bite is very specific timing wise as these fish are not actively feeding anymore. Its been a busy month and by the looks of things we will be running charters well into October and even November this year. Hoping for some continued good weather and good fishing.
This wraps up my September Nanaimo Fishing charters report, Tight Lines
