The last week we've had good success doing fishing charters on Vancouver Island. Most days are full at this point and lots of times we are doing 10 plus hour days on the water. With the weather breaking we have been trying to get as many fishing charters in as possible, some days on the water up to 14 hours. Most fishing charters we are getting into chinook and coho salmon as well as bottom fish. Lingcod sizes have been up to 20 pounds with a few bigger ones in the mix. Glow and uv swim baits have been the ticket for success for bottom fish. We have been catching some decent sized yellow eye rock fish as well, with swim baits working for them as well. For salmon, we have been having good success with skinny g spoons with uv and glow flashers. We have also been treated to some great Orca shows doing fishing charters in Nanaimo.
