Nanaimo Fishing Report 3/13/16

While the salmon fishing in Nanaimo is still fairly slow, there are some fish out there to be caught! Most fish have been caught way out off shore down 150ft plus. It's not uncommon to be fishing 200ft deep or more at this time of the year and early into the season. Small glow spoons and coyotes with long leaders and glow flashers are your best bet this time of year. Althought it never hurts to try some new gear out when its slow. Unreel Charters is looking forward to what should be another great season of salmon fishing in Nanaimo, which in my opinion is one of the most underated fisheries on Vancouver Island. Its not uncommon to find chinooks 20-30 lbs + all season long. We hope you will join us for another great season starting usually late April or early May.

Best of luck out there!

Capt. Blake
