It sure has been a strange and odd year for fishing charters in Nanaimo but we are operating and the fishing has continued to be good! On our latest Nanaimo fishing charters we have caught numerous chinook and some coho salmon. The average size for these chinooks are slightly under the legal retention size but there are bigger ones out there as well! With September right around the corner the maximum size restrictions for chinook will be lifted as of September 1st. We are still getting waves of new chinook coming through our area and with all the bait that’s been around we hope the fish will stick around too. We are taking precautions due to the ongoing covid situation. Face masks are available on board the vessel as well as hand sanitizer. Rods and reels as well as other common touch areas are sanitized after each trip.
