Salmon fishing in Sooke has been spotty the last couple weeks as its still early season. There are a decent amount of springs being caught its just that most are under the minimum size for retention. Also there have been some bigger fish caught but due to the slot limit they had to be released. There have been some good sized hatchery Chinooks up to 20lbs caught recently off Sooke. Anchovies, 3.5-4 coyote spoons, coho killers and small hootchies have all been working well recently.
