Victoria Fishing Reports

Salmon fishing in Victoria has been decent and fairly consistant over the last month. Most salmon are still on the small side tho, ranging from 2-5lbs with the occasional fish over 10 lbs. Constance bank, Albert head and Esquimalt have been the best areas as of late. Small glow spoons, squirts, coho killers and glow teaser heads have all been getting action. Halibut fishing in Victoria is now open and fishers have been doing well. Constance bank, William Head and Race rocks have been producing good size halibut. Large herring, salmon bellies and octopus have been good at getting hookups if using bait. Mudrakers and powerbaits have been good to keep the dog fish off the lines.

Salmon fishing in Sidney has been spotty the last few weeks, although there have been a few good sized fish caught there recently. Coal Island was the best producing area over the last few weeks. Most fish have been on the small size but reports of an 18lb spring caught in the area gives hope that more are out there!

Best of luck out there!

Capt. Blake
