As of May 1st bottom fishing for Lingcod, Yelloweye and other rockfish has officially opened! Salmon fishing has continued to be productive on our fishing charters and bottom fishing should be great right off the bat. Due to no fishing pressure on lingcod and rockfish for the last 6 months the fishing is usually great in May for fishing charters in Nanaimo. With the salmon around in good numbers and bottom fish open there really isn't a better time to get out on a Nanaimo fishing charter! The weather is looking more spring and summer like everyday. We have also had some killer whale sightings on a few trips so hopefully they will be around more in the spring and summer.
