The fishing in Port Renfrew has been getting better and better everyday. Unreel Charters spent the last week doing fishing charters in Port Renfrew and our guests went home with loads of Salmon and Halibut. Halibut and bottom fishing is on fire right now and we have been getting limits of Halibut almost daily. Our last fishing charter in Port Renfrew finished off with a triple header of Halibut! After 20 minutes we were limited out and on to Salmon fishing! Our guests from New Zealand couldn't believe how fast they caught their limit. Most Halibut are in the 20-30lb range but we picked up a beauty 133cm, most likely 70-80lbs and a 35lber as well. Salmon fishing is picking up on the bank with most Salmon being 10-20 lbs. The beach still remains slow but a few bigger fish are being caught there. Crabbing also remains very good in the area, with our best pot being 10 large Dungeness keepers. With fisheries reporting a record Chinook run on the west coast of Vancouver Island this summer, now is the time to book your trip!
