Sooke Winter Fishing Report

The salmon fishing in Sooke has been fairly decent lately but fishers have had a hard time getting on the water due to the bad weather. Good fishing has been found around the 130-150 mark, with alot of the salmon in the 3-6lb range and not many larger ones. Small spoons, coho killers and small hootchies have had good success as well as anchovies in glow teaser heads. Green glow, purple onion and lemon lime flashers have been working well.

Fishing in East Sooke has been fairly good in Becher bay recently with some winter springs up to 18 lbs, but most are in the 3-6lb range. The trap shack and Whirl bay have been producing good fish as well as inside Frazer Island. Anchovies in glow teaser heads as well as small glow coyote spoons and coho killers have been producing well. Glow flashers in general have been working well as well as purple onion and green glow.

Halibut Fishing is closed for January

Best of luck out there!
